Joan, Alan, and the entire Donnelly Family: I am sorry for your family's loss...he was a wonderful man who helped raise five terrific kids of which I had the honor of going to school and church with. Thank you for sharing him with us. Take your time and know that when you are ready to come back to us that your Blog family is here for you.
What a sweet, beautiful picture.
Blessings to you.

Oh man that sucks. At least you have wonderful memories that you can hold on to wonderful memories. There is a famous Mexican song that speaks about death and how you should live life to it's fullest. It's a song by Antonio Aguilar. I'll translate the lyrics for you. You may not like the music but the lyrics are amazing. I apologize of the translation or if the lyrics appear bizzare.
I go through life singing
recording the world
If they want I'll tell them
I am a soul without owner
I do not care about anything
To me life is a dream
I drink when I want
I don't lie. I'm very sincere
and I'm like seagulls
flying from port to port
I know life is short
in the end we owe it.
The day I die
I will not take anything
Let's give joy to joy
life ends soon
what happened in this world
reamains only memories
Once dead I'll just take
dirt with me.
the day I die
I will not take anything
Let's give joy to joy
life ends soon
what happened in this world
remains only memories
Once dead I'll just take
dirt with me.

So sad you are having to go through this. Your dad has always sounded like such a wonderful dad to have. May you find peace in knowing he suffers not.
Joan, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I can relate as I lost my father several years ago, rather unexpectedly. I love to remember him and I know you will have fond memories as well.
I'm sorry too!
